Experimenting with filmmaking offers opportunities to apply your knowledge and understanding of concepts covered elsewhere in this resource (eg. genre and representation) to your own creative practice.  In this section of the site, you will learn some basic filmmaking techniques so you can create your own short films about Jewish life in Hackney, past and present.  As the site develops, we hope to be able to showcase some of the most engaging.

To get you started, think about all the different people involved in making a film – decide for your self whether your film is a documentary or another film genre as it may involve different roles.  Use this interactive spidergram as a starting place adding your own ideas by clicking on the “Add Pin” button or the centre statement.
